Peglidis Vineyard

View wines from this vineyard

Bunny and Yvonne Peglidis first planted their vineyard in 1970. This makes by any measure the Peglidis vineyard a fully mature site. Over the course of its history Peglidis vineyard has been managed by adopting old school farming techniques and minimal inputs onto the land to ensure good vine health. It's always been dry grown, hand pruned by Bunny (pictured), rod tied by Yvonne and hand picked by friends. It's a special site and grows fine Riesling.

With its chocolate loam soil over limestone, the soil has great water holding capacity to ensure healthy vine canopy as fruit protection. This all makes for grapes in excellent condition and health.

From this vineyard I create my Peglidis vineyard, melva, pazza and 5452 by KT Rieslings and a cheeky parcel of Shiraz which finds its way into my 5452 red blend. The different wines are made because of some variation in soil type between the blocks. This allows me an opportunity to celebrate each different patch and the hard work from my great friends Bunny and Yvonne.
